Construction portfolios consist of projects located within other Commonwealth Agency facilities such as Department of Corrections (Correctional Institutions), Department of Human Services (State Hospital and Center Facilities), Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (Universities), Department of Military & Veterans Affairs (Readiness Center and Veterans' Hospital), Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Flood Control, State Parks), and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Headquarter Building).
This position is home headquartered; however, daily travel to job sites in the following North Central Region counties is required: Bedford, Blair, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lycoming, McKean, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Potter, Snyder, Tioga, or Union. In addition, you may occasionally be asked to travel to the following counties outside of the North Central Region: Bradford, Cambria, Columbia, Cumberland, Dauphin, Forest, Franklin, Indiana, Jefferson, Schuylkill, Somerset, Sullivan, and Warren.
Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate prior to employment to Bedford, Blair, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lycoming, McKean, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Potter, Snyder, Tioga, or Union County.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position reports to a Project Coordinator and assists in managing capital improvement projects for Commonwealth Agencies within DGS' North Central Region. You will be responsible for coordinating projects to ensure they are in accordance with approved plans, specifications, general conditions, laws, regulations, and procedures. Work also involves conducting job conferences; negotiating and approving change orders up to a specific limit; providing technical guidance and direction to outside professionals and contractors; monitoring project progress to ensure adherence to project schedules; problem-solving; using construction computer software for administrative forms and processes; and generating various documents and reports in the IT system. You will have the opportunity to represent the department in claims and disputes, as well as ensure effective and efficient customer care to all client agencies and stakeholders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
This position is home headquartered; however, daily travel to construction projects throughout the North Central Region is required. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $60,714.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of professional building construction administration, construction planning, or construction project engineering experience for renovations and new construction of commercial, institutional, or educational buildings; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
This position requires possession and maintenance of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C driver's license or equivalent.

You must reside in or be willing to relocate prior to employment to Bedford, Blair, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lycoming, McKean, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Potter, Snyder, Tioga, or Union County.
You must be willing and able to travel to construction sites in Bedford, Blair, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lycoming, McKean, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Potter, Snyder, Tioga, and Union counties in the North Central Region.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
On-site renovation and new construction experience at commercial, institutional, and educational buildings
Working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) construction schedules
Previous work experience on construction projects that utilized separate multiple Prime Contractors to perform the work
Experience writing, generating correspondence to contractors, design professionals, and/or clients regarding project issues, conditions, or potential actions
Experience conducting construction meetings
Experience reviewing or negotiating construction change orders
Microsoft Office Suite and/or Construction Management Software experience
