Our client, a biotechnology and life sciences innovator, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Sustaining Engineering Department supporting Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Lifecycle teams .

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills , excellent cross-functional communication , and the ability to lead technical investigations - qualities that will align well with the organization.

Job Title: Sr Mechanical Engineer

Location: Hayward, CA

Pay Range: 53.50$-66.75$ per hour

What's the Job?

Lead sustaining engineering activities to support ongoing manufacturing and improve product reliability.

Identify and implement mechanical design, cost, and reliability improvements for existing DNA sequencing systems.

Perform system-level testing, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for mechanical failures.

Design mechanical components, assemblies, and test fixtures using SolidWorks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and support lifecycle management initiatives.

What's Needed?

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years, or M.S. with 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.

Proficiency in SolidWorks, mechanical design principles, and GD&T.

Experience working with precision assemblies, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.

Proven ability to lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.

Experience in sustaining engineering; FDA-regulated product experience is a plus.
