Position Summary:
This position is responsible for leading several critical finance functions, including financial planning & analysis (FP&A), investor relations, and treasury functions for Mohegan. The FP&A function includes oversight of budgets, financial models, forecasts, financial and operational analyses, capital allocation, and strategic planning for the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority (Mohegan) enterprise, including its operating properties and divisions. This position develops and executes the strategic vision for the financial planning & analysis organization and works cross-functionally to support property finance teams and capital markets, investor relations, and strategic development activities. The treasury function includes leading capital markets execution, maintaining banking relationships, overseeing treasury operations, foreign currency and interest rate risk management, and capital planning. The investor relations function includes maintaining dialogue with bondholders and research analysts, participation in investor conferences, and preparation of quarterly earnings releases and investor calls.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Establishes and oversees annual budget process; prepares and reviews annual budgets in collaboration with property finance teams
Ensures that financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analyses facilitate deeper understanding of business and operational trends and complement capital markets activities
Collaborates with accounting functions on financial reporting and external financial communications
Reviews monthly operational results for the enterprise
Oversee ad hoc analyses focused on operational trends, economic trends, or competitive developments, when necessary
Plans and implements optimal long-term capital structure for the Mohegan enterprise
Executes financing transactions across the enterprise, including properties inside and outside North America
Develops and negotiates term sheets, credit agreements, bond indentures, and other financing documents
Develops, advises, and maintains policies and procedures to ensure compliance with debt and other financial covenants
Maintains external financial relationships, including banks, rating agencies, and investors
Serves as primary point of contact for investor inquiries
Partners with senior leadership and work cross-functionally to support investor-related activities
Develops and executes plan for proactive investor outreach, including building investor understanding of Mohegan business
Supervises treasury operations and strategic projects
Analyzes cash forecasts and works cross-functionally to determine the amount and appropriate structuring of funding to meet domestic and international cash needs
Ensures the effective management of the organization's cash assets
Develops and implements strategies to mitigate foreign currency and interest rate risk
Reviews net present value, buy versus lease, valuation, rate of return, breakeven, and other financial analysis, as requested
Supports finance due diligence, capital structuring, and financing for strategic development activities
Review financial statements and other filings to ensure compliance with debt agreements and other agreements pertaining to Mohegan
Supports the accounting, financial planning and analysis, tax, legal, and strategic development teams
Creates and maintains strong relationships with external legal counsel
Keeps abreast of industry and financial market trends and competitive landscape to both proactively and reactively adjust financing plans and messaging
Supports the long-term development of team members
Drives financial components of long-term strategic planning process
Develops and maintains long-term capital investment plan
Establishes a data-driven approach to create, track, and analyze key financial metrics
Collaborate with the strategic development team on feasibility and return on investment assessments
Provides clear and actionable information to all stakeholders and provides recommendations
Works closely with Mohegan CEO, CFO, and COO, as well as other members of senior management
Supports the long-term development of team members
Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Master's in Business Administration or Chartered Financial Analyst preferred
At least six years of experience in a high volume, multi-property casino environment, with heavy emphasis on property operations management and/or analytics
At least 8 years of debt capital markets experience, with global experience preferred
At least 4 years of management/supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to lead teams
Global casino experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Excellent critical thinking skills, particularly for problem solving and trend identification
Excellent accounting and analytics skills
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Effective communication with external finance partners
Thorough understanding of all debt agreements, compliance requirements and restrictions
Thorough understanding of capital markets
Thorough understanding of financial modeling and ancillary analyses
Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment
Training Requirements:
Knowledge of Mohegan corporate and department policies and procedures
Knowledge of financial software (Workday)

Office work environment
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
Travel may be required for meetings and/or conferences
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
