Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join a nonprofit organization in Brevard, North Carolina. In this role, you will oversee essential accounting functions and ensure compliance with financial regulations and organizational goals. Responsibilities:

Oversee the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.

Coordinate and prepare for financial statement audits, addressing any issues that arise.

Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial records.

Review and approve journal entries to ensure precision and compliance.

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.

Provide financial insights and reports to support organizational decision-making.

Collaborate with other departments to address accounting-related needs and challenges.

Monitor compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and standards. Requirements - Proven experience in managing accounting functions, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and general ledger management.

Familiarity with financial statement audits and ability to address audit requirements.

Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.

Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
