JLG is seeking a motivated high school student interested in engineering, manufacturing, and process improvement to join the Industrial Engineering team as an apprentice. This hands-on opportunity provides real-world experience in a manufacturing environment while developing essential skills in industrial engineering, problem-solving, and efficiency optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Standard Work Instructions (SWI): Update and implement changes from engineering modifications.

Technical Skills: Read and interpret Change Notices, blueprints, and facility layouts.

Software Proficiency: Learn and use AutoCAD, Creo View, JED, and Microsoft Office.

Process Improvement: Conduct time studies, process mapping, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manufacturing Support: Shadow Industrial & Manufacturing Engineers (IE/ME) and assist with daily production needs.

Safety & Organization: Maintain workplace organization (6S), follow PPE requirements, and support safety/quality improvements.

Desired Qualifications:

Self-motivated with a logical, problem-solving mindset.

Strong math, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work in a team and independently.

Interest in 2D/3D modeling (AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks, etc.).

Punctual, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Planning to pursue a degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).

Other skillsets:

Ability to read blueprints/layouts

Problem-solving & critical thinking

Attention to detail

Teamwork & Communication skills

Time management & organization
