This role provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish
your work as long as you can be responsive to the team\'s needs. The
strategic sourcing manager will develop, implement, and maintain a
commodity procurement and inventory strategy that supports Twin Disc\'s
manufacturing supply chain to help the company remain competitive in the
marketplace. This position works to implement policies and processes to
purchase raw materials used to process and manufacture parts. This role
will also monitor suppliers and analyze the commodities market, global
economic conditions, and events to make informed purchase decisions.
This position oversees the bidding and contract negotiations to obtain
the best pricing to meet commodity needs. Education Bachelor\'s degree
in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or
equivalent required Master\'s degree preferred, specifically in the
areas of supply chain or business administration (MBA) Five or more
years of experience in direct material sourcing/procurement management
in a global environment, with demonstrated expertise sourcing with
global suppliers, including India and or China Demonstrated success
leading global sourcing projects with cross-functional teams to deliver
results. Commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities: Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal
relationship skills and listening skills that allow being able to work
with people in all levels of the organization and external customers.
Prepare comprehensive technical reports summarizing findings, data
insights, and engineering recommendations. Solid analytical skills and
communication, with the ability to structure, collect, analyze and
communicate data, with good judgment and decision-making skills.
Excellent project management and organizational skills. Excellent
interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills. Ability to work
across different cultures. Fluency in Mandarin and or Hindi is required.
Work Environment: Racine, Wisconsin. Travel required for customer and
Twin Disc entity visits both domestically and abroad Specialized
Knowledge: CPM/APICS certification and knowledge of lean manufacturing
