Salary Range: $127,500 to $168,000

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Manager, Corporate Risk and Insurance, is responsible for managing the organization's risk exposure with a primary focus on insurance and risk mitigation for construction projects. This role ensures that all company operations, assets, and projects are adequately insured, and promotes a culture of risk awareness and compliance. The manager works closely with project managers, legal teams, subcontractors, and insurance representatives to evaluate risks and implement effective insurance strategies across all phases of construction.
Risk and Insurance Program Management
Primary point of contact for information related to corporate insurance programs, including, but not limited to property, inland marine, builder's risk, third party liability, professional indemnity, environmental, cyber, workers' compensation.
Review and negotiate insurance and surety contract provisions to ensure compliance with internal standards and project requirements.
Manage customer, landlord, subcontractor, and vendor insurance certificates to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Manage insurance reporting requirements to parent company.
Support Director with development and implementation of risk management policies, frameworks, and processes.
Other assignments as determined by Director, including interdepartmental support for insurance claims management, controlled insurance program administration (OCIP/CCIP), and surety bonds.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with legal, compliance, finance, operations, and other departments to address risk and insurance related concerns.
Support project teams with project specific insurance placements including but not limited to, builder's risk and ocean cargo.
Training
Develop and deliver training programs to enhance insurance and risk management awareness, knowledge and practices across the organization.
ABOUT YOU
In-depth knowledge and practical application of commercial insurance including familiarity with OCIP/CCIP programs and project-specific coverage structures.
Understanding of risk management principles with an ability to assess and mitigate risks while capitalizing on opportunities.
Solution-focused, logical, and framework-based thinking with the ability to generate support for ideas and plans.
Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about complex business problems, uncovering data-driven insights and creating actionable recommendations.
Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships.
Strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficient with risk management systems, Microsoft Office 365, and insurance certificate compliance systems/tools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education and Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in insurance and risk management, preferably in the construction industry with a Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience.
Certification: Professional certification (e.g., ARM, CIC, CRM, CPCU) preferred.
