Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role involves daily maintenance tasks, plant inspections, and troubleshooting of various mechanical and electrical systems within the manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

Complete daily work order lists and conduct plant inspections.

Repair and troubleshoot gear boxes, drivers, conveyors, and motors.

Repair and diagnose issues with packaging equipment.

Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing plant equipment.

Work with five pistons operating at 2000 RPM, heat exchangers, and gauge systems.

Replace sprockets, gear boxes, and three-phase motors.

Read and interpret blueprints and P & ID loops (piping prints).

Troubleshoot relays, wiring, and high voltage electrical systems.

Pull wires and run conduit for electrical systems.

Understand maintenance of boilers and steam generation for plant temperature control.

Comprehend refrigeration systems (Freon and Ammonia) with CFC Universal knowledge.

Possess welding/fabrication skills (preferred).

Maintain and use personal tools for maintenance tasks.

Essential Skills

Five years of mechanic experience.

Basic electrical skills for troubleshooting.

Mechanical skills relevant to industrial plant manufacturing.

Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, air compressors, and refrigeration.

Ability to read P & ID prints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

PLC troubleshooting (preferred).

Welding and fabrication skills (preferred).

Knowledge of boiler systems.

Stationary Engineering License (Maryland 1st or DC 3rd, preferred).

Great attitude and work ethic.

Flexibility to work different shifts with advance notice.

Ability to adapt and adjust to varied daily tasks.

Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and help as needed.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic manufacturing environment with operations running 24/7. The facility is unionized, and shift assignments are based on seniority, typically starting on the night shift. Be prepared for a flexible schedule with advance notice, and occasional on-call duties. The plant's operations include processing, packaging, and shipping to major clients in the DMV.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LANDOVER, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.91 - $38.91/hr.
