Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (100% Remote - Prefer East Coast or Central Time Zone Candidates)About the Role

Join our dynamic team as a Mechanical Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in designing and engineering natural gas piping and compressor/metering stations for the midstream natural gas industry. This position offers the flexibility of fully remote work while contributing to projects that power energy infrastructure across the nation.

You'll lead mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and have a passion for technical excellence, this is the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities

Lead Engineering Efforts: Oversee all mechanical engineering activities from concept through execution and closeout.

Design & Compliance: Develop specifications, calculations, and drawings aligned with applicable codes and standards.

Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing.

Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to define scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Risk Management: Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for decommissioning activities.

Vendor Coordination: Review proposals and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Client Interface: Address technical inquiries and facilitate project approvals with clients and regulatory agencies.

Team Engagement: Participate in design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID sessions, and project meetings.

Performance Monitoring: Track progress and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency.

Safety & Quality: Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship in all engineering activities.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).

Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Experience:

8+ years in design or project engineering within the oil and gas industry.

Strong background in facilities and pipeline projects.

Technical Expertise:

Proficiency in SolidWorks, Inventor, CADWorx, P&ID, and Navisworks.

Experience with mechanical design, piping, and both brownfield and greenfield projects.

Familiarity with compressor/metering station projects.

Consulting experience is a plus.

Work Environment

100% Remote - Prefer candidates in Eastern or Central Time Zones for optimal collaboration.

Occasional travel to project sites may be required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $85.00/hr.
