Summary
This position will be responsible for Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) estimating and preconstruction services which include but are not limited to the preparation of estimates, document review and constructability, cost management and value engineering analysis, systems review, variance analysis and historical cost comparisons, and bid solicitation, receipt and evaluation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Completes necessary take-offs and prepares estimates during all phases, including conceptual through final construction documents (guaranteed max price) for all MEP systems.
Develops and maintains KA specific MEP pricing templates, pricing worksheets, and database for both detailed and conceptual
Supports the development of value-engineering alternatives.
Supports the preparation of estimate documentation for purposes of Project Team and Executive-level review.
Participatesin design meetings.
Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Effectively communicates with andsolicitsappropriate subcontractorsfor the project.
Supports theidentification and solicitation ofappropriate subcontractorsby project needs.
Supports the evaluation and solicitation of bids from various subcontractors,vendorsand suppliers.
Leads procurement/direct purchase of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment & Gear.
Sets-up project estimates in Kraus-Anderson (KA)estimating software.
Attends Owner/Client interviews.
Maintains and grows professional and technical knowledge.
Participatesin industry associations.
Captureand entry of historical cost data to KA cost modeling software.
Performs otherduties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
8+ years of Mechanical estimating experience or equivalent of education and/or experience
Demonstrated ability to successfully interpret scope narratives and incomplete, preliminary or conceptual design documents by understanding the total required design details for mechanical systems and equipment for complete estimates at each design stage
Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel,Projectand Outlook)
Working knowledge of preconstruction & estimating software, industry best practices and procedures
Ability work under pressure and meet deadlines, whilemaintainingpositive attitudeand providing exemplary customer service
Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
Ability to quickly learn new software and computer applications
Ability to maintaincompliance with all company policies and procedures and meet quality standards
Ability to possessand maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in related field
Mechanical design knowledge and experience
Electrical estimating experience
Electrical design knowledge and experience
Demonstrated ability to be able to successfully interpret outline scope narratives and incomplete design documents byunderstanding the total required design details for electrical systems and equipment for complete estimates at each design stage
Knowledge of estimating software, such as: On Screen Takeoff (OST), WinEst, andModelogix

Salary Range: $100,000 to $135,000 annually, plus auto allowance and discretionary incentive program.
Pay is based on many factors including but not limited to education, skill, experience, training, certifications, and other business needs.
