These two opportunities offer experienced attorneys the chance to serve as the primary legal authority for designated LDH regions, providing high-level legal advice, consultation, and representation on complex and high-profile health law matters. Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice law plus four years of experience as a practicing attorney.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Serve as senior legal counsel for assigned LDH region(s), providing independent, highly technical legal advice, consultation, and representation that directly influences the operation of multiple LDH programs and facilities across multiple parishes.
Advise and support Executive Counsel, General Counsel, and Deputy General Counsels on complex, high-profile legal matters involving health law, regulatory compliance, and program operations.
Provide legal guidance to LDH program offices including Office of Public Health, Office of Behavioral Health, Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities, Medicaid, Adult Protective Services, Human Resources, Office of Women's Health, and other related programs within assigned regions.
Represent the Department in all phases of the legal process, including administrative proceedings, negotiations, and coordination with state and federal entities, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Analyze, interpret, and apply state and federal health laws, regulations, and policies to support regional operations, facilities, and contracted providers.
Serve as regional legal liaison by coordinating with LDH leadership, program administrators, and external partners to resolve legal issues, mitigate risk, and support effective service delivery.
Perform related legal and administrative duties as required, including providing notary services when applicable and supporting additional regions as backup senior legal counsel to ensure continuity of legal services.
Preference may be given to applicants with extensive experience handling complex health law matters, including providing independent legal advice and representation for multi-program or multi-jurisdictional operations.
