BlackRock is seeking a Director, AI Deployment Engineer to lead the deployment and continuous improvement of artificial intelligence capabilities across Business Operations within the Technology & Operations organization. This role focuses on translating AI strategy into durable, production-ready solutions that are embedded into real operational workflows.
You will lead AI deployments from pilot through scaled adoption, identify agentic and workflow-based automation opportunities, and partner closely with subject matter experts, engineers, and product teams throughout the lifecycle. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys working across teams, navigating ambiguity, and ensuring AI solutions deliver measurable value once live.
Team Overview
The Technology Development Operations Team (TDO) drives AI-enabled automation and integration across the Technology & Operations organization. The team partners with Aladdin Engineering, AI Labs, and other technology teams to deliver scalable, production-grade AI capabilities that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance user experience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Director, AI Deployment Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful rollout and ongoing improvement of AI solutions across Business Operations. Responsibilities include:
Leading end-to-end deployment of AI technologies into live operational environments
Running structured business process reviews to identify AI and agentic automation opportunities
Partnering with domain experts to understand workflows, constraints, and success metrics
Collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and platform teams during design, build, testing, and release
Serving as the primary business-facing partner during deployment to ensure solutions are usable, reliable, and scalable
Establishing post-deployment feedback loops and translating insights into prioritized enhancements
Monitoring adoption, performance, and operational risk, and driving continuous improvement
Contributing to deployment standards, playbooks, and guidelines for AI delivery across Business Operations
Supporting governance, documentation, and readiness activities to enable responsible AI adoption
What We're Looking For
Successful candidates will demonstrate many, though not necessarily all, of the following:
Experience deploying technology solutions into production business environments, ideally involving AI, automation, or advanced analytics
Strong ability to analyze business processes and translate operational needs into deployable solutions
Experience working across technical and non-technical teams to drive outcomes
Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and prioritizing work across multiple initiatives
Clear communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible terms
Technical and Analytical Experience
Helpful skills and experiences may include:
Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts, including agentic systems or intelligent workflows
Experience partnering with engineering teams on AI platforms, APIs, or data pipelines
Exposure to automation technologies or operational tooling
Ability to use data and user feedback to inform improvements

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$215,000.00 - USD$275,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
