As a Data Engineer , you will focus on developing data pipelines for multi-functional teams, ultimately empowering the organization to make more data-driven decisions. You will be responsible for building data pipelines from source to consumption layer, following the medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold). Leveraging a technology stack that includes Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL, you will assemble large, sophisticated data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements. Working with various stakeholders, you will gather requirements and deliver compliant, efficient, sustainable, and well-documented solutions.

This position is based out of the Piscataway, NJ location. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

What you'll do

1. Pipeline Development and Architecture

End-to-End Execution: Build, support, and maintain data pipelines from source to consumption layers using Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL .

Architecture Strategy: Implement the medallion architecture to ensure organized data progression and quality.

Data Assembly: Assemble large, sophisticated data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.

Standard Stack: Leverage the standard data engineering technology stack to deliver data pipelines that are compliant with enterprise standards and best practices.

Process Optimization and Innovation

Continuous Improvement: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.

Emerging Tech: Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies within the data engineering space.
Collaboration and Support

Stakeholder Engagement: Work with various stakeholders across the company to gather requirements.

Technical Assistance: Assist with data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs.

Advisory Role: Advise or review proposed or ongoing data engineering pipelines and respective components within the organization.

Teamwork: Collaborate with other business and technical teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
Governance and Standards

Code Quality: Perform code reviews and help enforce data engineering standards and best practices.

Compliance: Ensure solutions are compliant with standards set by the Data Engineering team and comply with all policies.

Documentation: Build, document, and maintain pipeline components.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 2+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or related role.

Technical Proficiency:

Programming: Experience developing in Python and SQL. Proficiency in dbt (optional)

Data Warehouses: Experience working with Snowflake (preferred)

Databases: Experience in interacting with and using databases & SQL.

Pipeline Engineering: Experience building and optimizing large data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.

Version Control: Experience using Git, GitHub, or other version-controlled code management tools.

Cloud Services: Experience with cloud infrastructure and services (GCP, AWS, etc.).

Infrastructure as Code: Experience managing infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform).

Containerization: Experience working with container-based frameworks (Kubernetes & Docker preferred).

Orchestration: Experience with workflow management tools such as Airflow.

Preferred Qualifications

Cross-Functional Experience: Previous experience in a Data Engineering role working closely with other programmers (Software Engineers, Data Scientists, etc.).

Monitoring: Experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring.

Automation: Familiarity with software-automation production systems (GitHub Actions, Selenium, etc.).

Deployment: Familiarity with code deployment tools.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $74,400.00 - $117,500.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
