Summary
Provide professional and administrative support to the Michigan Technological University Office of Admissions. Provide support for prospective students and their support network, and high school counselors and teachers in regards to the admissions process.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Serve as an integral part of our domestic application processing team by uploading application materials, releasing admissions decisions, and running daily error reports
Provide excellence customer service to staff, faculty, student, and visitors to campus
Answer main admissions phone lines, return voicemails and respond to general Admissions email
Independently analyze and update data from applications to Slate and Banner
Independently resolve issues that arise when pushing applications through the process
Independently compile, track, and organize high school and college transcripts for entry into Slate/Banner
Process and distribute delivered mail
Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies regarding applicant's residency
Maintain and update high school CEEB codes
Assist with mailing of acceptance packets, deposit packets, and parent guides
Interact with administrative units including academic departments, Financial Aid, Registrars, Payroll Services, and Graduate School
Assist with managing duplicate applications
Troubleshoot prospective student login information
Assist with the supervision of front desk students and assign them projects as needed
Assist with daily campus visits by helping guests register, greeting guests, and answering questions
Assist at large-scale on-campus recruitment events including Open House and Preview Day
Commit to continuously improving and thinking of outside-the-box solutions that would improve our admissions process
Take an active role in staying current with Michigan Tech news, events, facts, figures, degree programs, and related institutional information
Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives
Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures
High school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
Required Experience
2 years experience in clerical or administrative support
2 years experience using personal computers, basic software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
2 years experience in a customer service setting
Desirable Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
Experience working with databases or CRM systems such as Banner and Slate
Experience working in high school setting or higher education

Excellent interpersonal, customer service and oral/written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under conditions with frequent interruptions and meet established deadlines
