Where You Will Work???

Freeport-McMoRan is a leading international metals company with global headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support our operations in accounting and finance, human resources, health and safety, information technology, planning, engineering, and more. Our hybrid internship program allows interns to work virtually as well as come together in person regularly at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or our site locations. Interns participating in our hybrid internship program will be expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance - 50 miles one-way - of the company's corporate offices to ensure availability when meeting attendance/collaboration is needed. Interns living more than 50 miles away would be required to relocate and would be eligible for travel and housing assistance.

What You Will Do

Under general supervision, provides technical support and guidance for projects and programs for the Sustainability Department in the areas of Responsible Sourcing, Climate Change and Human Rights.

Assists in conducting and recording due diligence on environmental and human rights risks in the supply chain.

Assists in developing and maintaining datasets to record actions for various purposes.

Assists in reviewing and maintaining collaboration platforms for the Sustainability Team.

Conducts human rights or climate change related research to enable team in decision-making, including benchmarking against competitors, peers or others in the value chain.

Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

Currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree, bachelor's or higher, in Environmental Science or closely related field OR

Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor's or higher in Environmental Science or closely related field.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Possesses strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

Highly accurate and detail oriented.

Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.

Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

What We Offer:

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $26.50 - $33.25/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on level of education and relevant experience.

What We Require:

Ability to understand, apply and communicate verbal and written work and safety-related instructions, procedures, job assignments and applicable safety standards in English.

Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear, and see.

Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the workday.
