Walton Contracting INC located in Traverse City, MI seeks Nine (9) full-time General Laborers who will be responsible for:

Employees may operate hand and power tools of all @types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments

They may also clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble other waste materials

Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards

Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools while distributing them to the appropriate locations

Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones with appropriate training provided

Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials with appropriate training provided.

Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes

Six (6) months prior work experience; Experience does not have to be related to excavation.

Basic English required to communicate with other staff and co-workers.

All worksites located County to County. Workers are assigned to one (1) worksite per day, and rarely travel outside of their assigned worksite. Therefore, travel throughout this area is required less than 5% of the time. Daily commuting time to worksites is less than one (1) hour.

Daily transportation is provided to and from worksite.

On-the-job training is provided.

Wage: No less than $23.26 per hour which is the prevailing wage. Overtime is available and guaranteed at no less than $34.89 per hour. All wages will be paid bi-weekly.

Employer will provide earned sick time under the Michican Earned Sick Time Act 338. The amount of paid sick leav provided will vary depending upon size of comany in accordance with the law.

Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening and weekend hours.

Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Work hours and shifts vary. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Wages are paid bi-weekly.

Federal requirements of employer for workers hired with H-2B Visa authorization and all corresponding U.S. workers. Company will consider qualified candidates who reside 100 Miles outside of the work location that are willing to temporarily relocate to the work location. If hired, Company is willing to facilitate optional housing accommodations. Housing is limited to the period of time of temporary employment which is no more than nine (9) months and is on a first come first serve basis. If optional housing is accepted, cost of housing, is $125 per week. If housing is utilized, an agreement for housing will be required. A security deposit of $0.00 is required, which is refundable if housing is left in good condition. Deposit it due prior to moving in and if refunded will be refunded to employee in the same method as paid.

All deductions from paycheck will be made in accordance with and as required by law including but not limited proper deduction to ensure wages do not improperly fall below prevailing wage.

If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment
