Work involves assisting the halfway house superintendent in planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring the implementation of a multifaceted treatment system, which includes an integrated, system-wide rehabilitative program and specialized treatment programs; establishing goals and objectives and developing standards for achieving established goals; developing guidelines to administer and enforce policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; overseeing daily halfway house operations and activities; developing and evaluating budget requests. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. May interact with juvenile judges, district attorneys, probation departments, and other state agencies.Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per work week. Is on-call 24 hours per day.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDemonstrates a clear understanding and consistent usage of the Texas Model 2.0 when interacting with youth and staff.Models a trauma-informed interactional approach with youth and families.Play a key role in implementing and overseeing the transition to a milieu-based treatment model.Collaborate with JCOand#8217;s, MHP, Educators, and case managers to support youth in developing DBT Skills and behaviors changes.Promotes a team-based approach that prioritizes skill development with the dorm and classroom environment.Ensure staff are trained in DBT Techniques and aligned in promoting behavior change for positive, lasting outcomes. Uses leadership and teambuilding skills to motivate halfway house staff and youth to work toward common objectives and goals.Prepares and maintains management and operational reports, including special projects and non-routine reports; provides relevant information to the halfway house superintendent regarding the treatment and transitional programs provided at the halfway house.Implements techniques for evaluating programs and daily activities; develops and evaluates recommendations for guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations to enhance programs and operations.Ensures ongoing implementation and maintenance of all aspects of the Texas Model of trauma-informed corrections.Oversees and monitors activities of staff and the youth population; provides technical guidance; takes necessary action to ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.Coordinates halfway house operations to ensure the security and safety of the youth population, staff, property, and equipment; appropriately responds to emergency situations.Cooperates and consults with program administrators and supervisors throughout the agency to ensure common goals are met.Participates in activities relating to the halfway houseand#8217;s compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).Assists in the review of fiscal data and directing the organization and controlled use of resources to meet fiscal goals and objectives.Assists in the development and implementation of community-based initiatives designed to support successful reintegration of youth into their communities; collaborates with community organizations and resources; assists in planning and overseeing community outings and activities on an ongoing basis.Performs a variety of related duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.Performs all duties in compliance with agency safety policies and procedures:Reports safety hazards and corrects hazards when possible.
