Company DescriptionThe Malignant Hyperthermia Association of the United States, Inc. (MHAUS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to education about malignant hyperthermia (MH) for medical professionals and MH-susceptible patients and their families. Our mission is to save lives from MH. We work with medical professionals across North America and beyond who are MH experts. Staff feel they are empowered to make a difference through the lifesaving work we do. Role Description for Bookkeeper/Administrative AssistantThis full-time position will require a high level of competence in bookkeeping/accounting knowledge as well as the ability to be a self-starter who can handle a number of tasks simultaneously. Attention to detail and the ability to ask questions for clarification in a positive and constructive manner are important. Salary will be commensurate with the level of experience and compatibility with the position requirements. Healthcare, Vacation, and Personal time off, Paid Holidays are provided. Bookkeeping duties will include the following:Disbursements/Accounts Payable, reconcile bank accounts, merchant accounts (BluePay, AmEx, Square, PayPal, Venmo) and credit card accounts. Accounts Receivable reconciliation and data entry as needed, Payroll Management, including setting up employees in payroll company, payroll submission, verifying and reconciling payroll taxes, benefits and audits. Assure accounting is accurate and journal entries are done if needed. Assist Executive Director with Budgets and monthly financial reporting. Work with CPA to complete annual non-profit audit. Administrative Coordinator Duties will include:Enter purchase orders for materials, maintain Inventory requirements within QuickBooks and YourMembershipMaintain electronic filing system; ensure accounting software is up-to-date (on all systems)Back up QuickBooks at least monthlyWork with vendor (presently Labyrinth) handling charitable registrations and state annual reporting.Assist staff with fulfillment of daily orders, answering customers questions and follow up on outstanding orders to be paid and processed Strong Skills Needed:QuickBooks and other bookkeeping dutiesAbility to learn our member management programAbility to work independently and in a team environmentProper telephone etiquetteDependability and willingness to help others
