We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Lombard, Illinois. This role is essential in managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in records, and supporting key accounting functions. The position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including check deposits and cash handling.

Perform credit card reconciliations and ensure accurate bank and fund account reconciliations.

Maintain organized financial records aligned with budgets, appropriations, tax levies, and audits.

Monitor unrestricted funds and assist in reporting activities.

Support the preparation of budgets, audits, and financial reports.

Record journal entries and manage general ledger updates.

Ensure compliance with corporate tax regulations and sales tax requirements.

Collaborate on corporate tax return filings and provide necessary documentation.

The salary range for this position is $25 to $31/hour, plus bonus. Benefits are available including medical, vision, and dental, and life and disability insurance. Employees hired for our FTEP Program are also eligible to enroll in our company's 401(k) or deferred compensation plan (if eligible). Requirements - Proven experience in accounting, including corporate tax and sales tax.

Proficiency in processing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Strong knowledge of corporate tax return procedures and compliance.

Ability to perform reconciliations for bank accounts and credit card transactions.

Familiarity with budgeting and audit preparation processes.

Excellent organizational skills for maintaining detailed financial records.

Capability to handle unrestricted fund tracking and reporting.

Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
