Responsibilities Coordinates scheduling of all congressional products and services as Government Publishing Office (GPO) primary liaison to various audiences and congressional staff. Schedules, tracks, and sets priorities for a wide variety of products. Recommends changes to congressional staff regarding product specifications for cost reduction or product improvement. Represents the office of Congressional Customer Services (CCS) in the production and development of electronic transmission of data. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the Lead Printing Services Specialist, PG -1654-13, you must meet the following requirements: Basic Education Requirement: In order to qualify for this position, your application must demonstrate that you meet the following Basic Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- journalism, business administration, English composition, commerce, accounting, printing or printing engineering, graphic or commercial art, industrial engineering, or economics OR PG-13: Specialized Experience: To qualify for the Lead Printing Service Specialist, PG-1654-13, you must meet the following requirements: To minimally qualify for the PG-13 level, you must meet the following requirements. You must possess (1) year of specialized experience at the PG-12 (or equivalent) level or higher. Specialized experience includes: 1) Managing print and digital schedules and serving as liaison to ensure timely delivery 2) Overseeing secure printing projects and advising on specifications and digital workflows and 3) Leading teams, assigning tasks, and improving printing processes. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Background Investigation: For a Suitability: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer.
