Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Production Manager to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, execution and delivery of material testing projects ensuring adherence to quality standards, and timelines. The Production Manager has daily responsibility to supervise project management and give clear technical guidance as necessary across a wide range of the laboratory's testing capabilities. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of material testing methodologies.
Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 per year (depending on experience)
Responsibilities
Responsible for working closely with the Business development team for technical review of quotations and qualification of leads.
Manage and motivate a team of Project Managers to ensure all facets of order entry/ job planning processes provide an optimum customer service level that are in line with business operating plans and strategic objectives.
Review the full work scope to ensure that it can be executed in a safe way and at a high- quality standard and if necessary, ensuring a risk assessment is conducted
Track and monitor output/results while providing feedback and making recommendations to processes in order to continuously improve.
Review technical standards and requirements, and where appropriate write job specific test procedures, liaise with clients on all matters technical and status related
Provide technical training and development support to staff
Work with assigned staff to ensure work schedules are maintained and balanced
Provide clear directions to the lab / Technicians by means of machining matrices & test worksheets to ensure successful completion of the client requirements within timescales
Arrange and supervise on-site witnessing by clients and representatives during stand
Perform review and audit activities on jobs including technical contract review, technical procedure review / audit, job start readiness review and job close review
Report and present results, close and invoice projects, create and archive job packs for each project
Maintain an environment of respect and dignity within the department covering employee interactions and problem solving while ensuring work rules are known and followed
Works effectively with lab functional managers and supervisors to develop and maintain positive employee relations

Skills / Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Material Science, or 10 years' experience in a related field.
5 years of leadership experience within a related industry.
Analytical problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
Strong written & verbal communication
Adaptable and flexible in approach
Familiar with national and international testing standards
Demonstrated understanding of TIC sector regulatory and industry requirements to align with customer needs and expectations
Familiar with a wide range of physical test methods, including fracture fatigue, corrosion aging, and metallography.
Work Environment
Primarily office and laboratory setting, with regular interaction across technical and operational teams.
Occasional presence in test areas involving exposure to mechanical equipment, heat, noise, and laboratory materials.
Must follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Standard business hours with potential for extended or weekend hours based on project demands.
Collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on technical excellence and customer satisfaction.
