Overview

How you can make a difference

This position is responsible for leveraging advanced analytics and data science techniques to extract actionable insights and drive data-informed decision-making at HealthEquity. This role will design, develop, and deploy ML, GenAI, and Agentic AI solutions to solve business problems at scale. Work across data processing, modeling, evaluation, and productionization with a focus on responsible AI and measurable impact.

What you'll be doing

Build and tune ML models (classification, regression, clustering, recommenders).

Develop LLM workflows: prompt engineering, RAG, finetuning, multimodal models.

Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in data science, machine learning, and related fields.

Provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis and model outputs to inform business strategy, drive decision-making, and optimize performance across various business functions.

Implement agentic AI solutions leveraging LangGraph for orchestration and tooluse.

Apply embeddings and vector search for NLP and retrieval pipelines.

Process large datasets using Python (pandas, scikitlearn, PySpark) and SQL.

Apply MLOps practices: CI/CD, monitoring, reproducibility.

Communicate insights clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.

What you will need to be successful

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields

4 to 5+ years of related experience in data science, preferably in a fastpaced environment

Advanced developer in Python with expertise in pandas, scikitlearn, and PySpark.

SQL for largescale data processing.

Building, tuning, and evaluating ML models; strong understanding of evaluation metrics.

Vectorization/embeddings and vector search algorithms for NLP.

Bias testing and fairness considerations.

Expertise in prompt engineering and agentic AI concepts (LangGraph experience preferred).

Translating business needs into modeling tasks; clear communication across audiences.

Crossfunctional collaboration and Agile project experience with proper documentation.

Model deployment concepts and MLOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, reproducibility).

Recommendation systems and evaluation of LLMs in production, including incremental evaluation.

OpenAI API/SDK usage, multimodal LLMs, and LLM finetuning.

This is a remote position.

Salary Range

$99500.00 To $129500.00 / year
