Department Overview
McDonald's, one of the most recognized brands in the world, is seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer to lead the development of our in-store technology as part of Commercial Product & Platform organization. The Commercial Product & Platform vision develops global technology products and platforms that delight our customers and enable our crews to operate our restaurants reliably and effectively.
The Order Team plays a critical role in delivering a seamless customer experience at McDonald's. Their primary responsibility is to ensure every order is fulfilled accurately and efficiently. This involves managing all the essential steps in the order lifecycle, including:
Ingredient Availability: Verifying that all required ingredients are stocked and ready for use.
Store Readiness: Ensuring the store is open and operational to serve customers.
Order Processing: Sending customer orders promptly to the kitchen for preparation.
Payment Verification: Confirming that payments are successfully processed before order completion.
By coordinating these activities, the Order Team ensures smooth operations and timely service, maintaining McDonald's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction..
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Working in a software development team for the Order Team that support the design and development of new functionality.
Contribute to all aspects of the agile development life cycle including design, development, documentation, testing and operations, and actively participating in and implementing the scrum process.
Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions for web applications.
Use software engineering guidelines to ensure a high standard of quality and create innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
Providing frequent progress updates to the direct manager and other collaborators.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar engineering field or equivalent years of experience.
2+ years of experience in software development experience with C# and .NET
1 + years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems, writing software requirements, design, and related engineering documentation.
Proven leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational precision and standard processes.
Experience developing software within an Agile environment, unit testing, effective code reviews, and utilizing SDLC effectively for efficient delivery of high-quality software.
Experience developing and releasing software within a CI/CD environment using GitHub actions or similar.
Demonstrated the ability to work in a variety of client settings and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and working effectively in a remote environment.
Ability to take a project from scoping requirements to launch delivery.
Good written and verbal communication skills, initiative, and self-starter.

Salary Range
The expected salary range for this role is $104,482.00 - $130,602.00 per year
