Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will assist with managing a high volume of invoices and help ensure accurate processing within the accounts payable department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to contribute their skills and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Process incoming invoices efficiently and ensure accurate entry into the system.

Assist with coding invoices to the appropriate accounts.

Support check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments.

Collaborate with the AP team to maintain timely processing of payments.

Organize and scan documents into the accounting software.

Verify invoice details for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Provide assistance in reconciling accounts payable transactions.

Adapt quickly to the department's workflow to help address the backlog of invoices.

Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve payment issues. Requirements - Familiarity with accounts payable processes and procedures.

Proficiency in coding invoices and account coding.

Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) and check runs.

Ability to work with accounting software for scanning and processing invoices.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and team members.

Capacity to handle high volumes of invoices in a timely manner.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures as needed.
