Summary This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA OC/CE/PACIFIC FIELD COMMAND. Responsibilities Monitoring network health in real-time, ensuring continuous availability and rapid response to potential disruptions. Understand IT network maps and troubleshoot network outages and other network impairments. Maintain comprehensive situational awareness of the DoDIN, analyzing network alerts and notifications from various sources to identify and escalate potential network incidents and ensure timely resolution. Coordinate with a team of network specialists, watch officers, and subject matter experts to troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents impacting the DoDIN, ensuring mission-critical communications remain operational. Works with multiple operating systems, satellite systems and network devices in dealing with dynamic issues such as network traffic congestion, packet loss, and encryption/decryption of information. Utilize sophisticated network management tools and event management systems. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Diagnosing and resolving network issues and ensuring continuous availability, accessibility, and optimal performance of critical network infrastructure and services.
