The Sustainability Specialist will support initiatives throughout the Saint-Gobain North America (SGNA) in pursuit of the robust sustainability goals.- These goals include reduction in operational energy, water, waste, & CO2 emissions, completion of Life Cycle Assessments of its products, Scope 3/Supply Chain emission reduction, as well as creating circularity in its operations and products. This person will work within teams from all parts of the organization to successful accomplish the Life Cycle Assessment goals.- This includes:
Researching Product Category Rules (PCRs) and industry standards
Collecting and verifying data for production, product recipes, raw material usage, waste, water, energy, and packaging information at each of the manufacturing facilities in the study.
Allocating resources to the products in the study using PCR framework and other standards
Writing Life Cycle Assessments reports and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) when requested by customers
Reviewing data with stakeholders and assessing hot spot areas of improvement to share with Business level road mapping teams.
Supporting reporting of circularity, recycled content, embodied carbon, and other product sustainability attributes on customer facing websites and tools
Providing backup support for both the LCA Manager for life cycle analysis and Sustainability team on various projects, including Scope 3, circularity, and other efforts as needed.
Assist in the development of product Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) to understand and communicate product sustainability attributes.
Participate in business level sustainability and green teams to provide LCA and circularity information for their strategy in pursuit of goals.
Assist Sustainability and LCA Manager with external industry partners, such as relevant industry groups, and LCA program operators like UL to develop analysis frameworks (PCR) for various product categories
All of which is intended to add value to each site and business, while promoting SG products and policies to reduce and conserve energy, water, waste, materials, and carbon emissions through transparency of where improvements are needed.
Results of conducted efforts will provide specific target areas of improvements for environmental metrics for the business and site in the assessment.
The position will serve as a key resource for Life Cycle Assessment and Scope 3 activities for Saint-Gobain North America.
BS Degree in Engineering or Science discipline required; Environmental, Sustainability, or Chemistry focus preferred.
0-2 years' experience in Sustainability/CSR/ESG program management - CO2, waste, water, energy reduction preferred.
0-2 years' experience in Life Cycle Assessment methodology preferred.
Familiar with manufacturing environments and common industrial process equipment preferred.
Familiar with safety and safety protocols in industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
Need to have strong technical skills to gain the credibility of the internal customers, mostly marketing leads.
Strong reading, writing, and data organization.
Team player and willingness to learn new skillsets. The position requires strong collaboration skills to perform in a metrical environment.
Very strong communicator as need to interact with stakeholders at various levels in organization.
Able to provide recommendation to improve current processes.
Strong analytical skills in order to understand complex situations to study and propose solutions.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $70,000 to $108,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 9% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $76,300 to $117,720. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
