M. E. and P., Inc., Engineering is a 25+ year old, multi-disciplined engineering firm focusing on a team approach providing quality design and construction documents to the construction industry for completion of commercial, industrial and institutional facilities.

We are seeking the right fit for a team member to join us as an Engineer In Training (EIT) Level Designer.

The position would provide the following opportunities and challenges.

As an E.I.T. level designer, you will work in our office and sometimes remotely, either alone or with engineering teams designing technical solutions to meet our clients business needs. The successful candidate will work with senior licensed engineers and experienced designers to help design HVAC systems, Cooling systems, Industrial energy systems, Water and waste-water systems, power distribution, remote generation, and lighting systems, as well as low voltage building protection and communications systems for manufacturing, distribution, and other industrial facilities as well as a variety of assembly and commercial applications.

As an E.I.T. level designer, you willhave responsibility for the adherence to and support of Office AutoCAD drafting standards and operational tools and methods that improve and provide efficiency and accuracy of the production of the design process and client deliverables.

As an EIT level designer you will enhance and develop technical competencies in the following areas:

Design HVAC (air distribution and piping), plumbing, and electrical systems in Autocad and other software.

Complete design work under industry standard and proprietary design criteria and internal systems for reviewing load profiles and building requirements. Further improvements to internally utilized design systems.

Preparation of design criteria, one line diagrams and specification for mechanical and electrical equipment.

Develop mechanical and electrical drawings, details, sequences, diagrams, and construction documents using AutoCAD.

Resolve Change Request Notices and Assist in responding to Request for Information.

Complete submittal reviews and responses supporting client goals.

Provide drafting support to the engineering staff; primarily in the electrical disciplines. The candidate should have aptitude and a willingness to continuously learn and provide drafting support in other engineering disciplines as well.

Prepare incoming electronic architectural drawing files for engineering design work. Complete and prepare construction documents as required from engineers work. Assist in the review of client deliverables to reduce errors.

Assist in the accomplishment of client project goals to meet production scheduling by coordinating with internal team members and external vendors.

Responsibility to assist in plotting, compiling, and archiving of electronic and hard copy client deliverables.

Provide support to assist in executing M.E.andP, Inc., Engineerings marketing and sales goals. The ability and commitment to interact with the companys clients in a courteous and professional manner is always required and imperative.

Creatively and continually seek improvement for M.E.andP, Inc., Engineerings service to its clients.

Communicate with industry trade partners and competitors through speaking engagements at society and client meetings.

Travel:

M. E. and P., Inc., Engineering has licensed professional engineers for services in six states (SC, NC, VA, GA, ALand KY). Designers can expect some local travel to project sites, collaborate with design professionals in other offices, as well as for training and other purposes.
