Job Title: Electrical Apprentice

Pay: $17-23

Job Description

Join a leading electrical contractor in Iowa and Omaha, NE as an Electrical Apprentice. We are seeking dedicated individuals to assist journeymen in various commercial, residential, utility, solar, audio-video, service, and fire projects. This role involves running and bending conduit, pulling cable, and installing fixtures. Although no prior electrical experience is required, a commitment to learning and training, as well as the willingness to pursue schooling in the trade, is essential.

Responsibilities

Assist journeymen in day-to-day duties across various projects.

Run conduit and bend conduit for commercial projects.

Run/pull cable and hang boxes and fixtures.

Work with romex cable in residential and multifamily settings.

Use hand and power tools correctly and safely.

Read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch.

Essential Skills

Basic electrical skills and knowledge of conduit, wiring, and installation.

Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic math.

Valid driver's license.

High School Diploma or GED.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with solar installations is a plus.

Prior experience in construction labor or electrical assembly is advantageous.

Ability to bend, twist, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods.

Prior experience with electrical rough-ins and finishing work is beneficial.

Appliance installation experience is a plus.

Work Environment

Our work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with optional overtime on Saturdays. We believe in work-life balance and do not push excessive overtime. Dress code includes jeans without holes, a professional tee shirt, and work boots. We provide all necessary PPE. Candidates should have basic hand tools and a tool pouch.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr.
