WORK SCHEDULE
100% FTE - 40 hours per week
Day Shift - UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 - 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement server/client business logic (Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Client Scripts)
Develop and maintain Service Portal widgets, Catalog items, and UI pages
Design data models and ACLs; ensure secure, performance code and efficient queries
Author and maintain automated tests (ATF) and deployment documentation
Contribute to technical debt reduction and performance tuning
Assist with estimates and sprint planning
Create knowledge articles and job aids
Build and support REST/SOAP integrations and data loads; leverage MID Server when appropriate
Implement transform maps, scripted REST APIs, and error handling/monitoring
Participate in code reviews; enforce standards and reusability patterns
Support incident resolution and root cause analysis for application issues
Contribute to upgrading readiness, resolving deprecated patterns and conflicts
Collaborate with ITIL owners to ensure development supports Incident, Change, Problem, Request, and Knowledge processes
Support CMDB data integrity where apps integrate with CIs
Track KPIs for release quality and cycle time
Share development best practices with team members
Provide code walkthroughs and pair programming
Contribute to internal libraries
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
ServiceNow System Administrator certification and at least one advanced certification (e.g., Application Developer or Implementation Specialist) within six months, if not current
ITIL 4 Foundation certification within six months
4+ years' experience must include the below:
Four or more years of ServiceNow development experience delivering complex features and integrations
Proficient in JavaScript on the ServiceNow platform, Flow Designer, Glide APIs, and Service Portal
