JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Penn State Schuylkill, located in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, is a member of the USCAA and Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC), and is accepting applications for the part time Head Coach of the Women's Volleyball Team.

This part-time position is responsible for assisting the head coach with all aspects of the Women's Volleyball program, including evaluating and recruiting academically qualified and talented student-athletes.

General Responsibilities

In charge of all practice and competition coaching.

In charge of the recruitment of academically qualified and skilled student-athletes.

In charge of arranging weekly practice schedules on the court.

Provide vision and leadership to create a positive team culture.

Provide feedback for the Director of Athletics to nominate and select weekly/season conference and national awards.

In charge of the development of opportunities to participate in service activities and encourage participation in community service. Use these opportunities to teach life lessons about respect, hard work, the value of education, and service to others.

Education Required - High school diploma. Preferred - Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

Work Experience Required - Coaching or playing experience at the high school level. Preferred - Collegiate coaching experience.

Skills

Proficient communication skills.

Strong leadership skills.

Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.

Knowledge of USCAA and PSUAC student-athlete and institutional compliance rules and rules governing the play of various games.

Event and personnel management experience.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCESThis position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
