FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a Facilities Operations Specialist within the Research and Development Support Activity (RDSA) responsible for developing and directing short/long range policy and programs to ensure the support of facilities, utilities, security, safety, communications, and operating systems. This position is located Bremerton, WA. Responsibilities You will manage a team of contracted building managers and facilities operations specialists and act as both the Government representative, as well as the Assistant Contracting Officer Representative. You will work closely with the Naval Base Kitsap Public Works Officer and team as well as Base Operating Support Contractors. You will work with local security representatives to ensure the network of facilities in Pacific Northwest meet security requirements and the required physical security systems remain operational. You will maintain close liaison with information technology and data center managers and ensure the facility complies with information technology requirements. You will work with headquarters to plan and execute a large annual facility budget with experience in managing budget execution. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Managing the operation of a large network of facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations as well as prioritizing facilities sustainment tasks and contracts. 2) Managing facilities planning for a network of government owned facilities, including incorporating basic facility requirements into the shore infrastructure plan. 3) Developing short- and long-range facilities plans and coordinate them across representatives throughout the Pacific Northwest region. 4) Managing a variety of construction projects among the facilities in the Pacific Northwest. You will bend, stoop, and climb ladders/stairs as required to inspect areas and equipment for repair, construction, and/or maintenance. You will respond to facility emergencies on a 24/7 basis. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
