The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their full-time Assistant Manager (JVSG) position in the Office of Workforce Development . The Assistant Manager plays a vital role in the Jobs for Veterans' State Grants Program. This position is responsible for assisting the JVSG Program manager by overseeing day-to-day JVSG staff activities, training, co -writing and enforcement of policy and guidance for JVSG employees. Additionally, this position will conduct case management audits, assess employment outcomes, and verify adherence to LVER & DVOP duties per federal guidelines. The selected candidate will be expected to travel when necessary. Knowledge of the Veterans programs under Federal regulations Title 38, specifically, JVSG program is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Staff Supervision: Assist the JVSG Manager with the administration and monitoring of daily activities of JVSG staff including assigning tasks, monitoring workload distribution, ensuring adherence to federal JVSG requirements.
· Staff Development: Lead, coach, and mentor JVSG team members by providing routine guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to support growth and goal achievement.
· Performance Management: Conduct regular meetings with JVSG staff to review priorities, performance, case management practices, service delivery outcomes, and case files audits.
· Documentation and Reporting: Complete performance evaluations, corrective action plans, monitor and track staff schedules, leave usage, and adherence to operational protocols.
· Policy Compliance: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and enforcing JVSG program policy and operational guidance.
· Training and Guidance: Co-develop, implement, and facilitate JVSG training, ensuring consistent delivery of federal guidance, best practices, and program updates.
· Collaboration & Partnership Engagement: Strengthen strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
· Flexibility: Be able to work on short and tight deadlines when requested by supervisor.
· Perform other duties as assigned .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Candidate must be a qualified, eligible veteran * .
· Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university -and- two years of related experience; OR four years of related experience; OR two years of experience at the lower -level Employment Services Specialist or position equivalent.
· Knowledge of the JVSG program at the local, State or Federal level.

Please attach a copy of your DD-214 and Disability Rating Certificate from the Veterans Administration, if applicable, that is dated within six months from the date of applying for the position. Applicants who fail to submit the appropriate supporting documentation (DD-214 and Disability Rating Certificate) will be required to provide these documents, if selected to interview for the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of 3 years' experience in strategic planning, program development, and implementation.
· Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) and related Wagner-Peyser (WP) Act.
· Four years of experience in employment services, career or vocational guidance and counseling.
· Two years of experience serving special needs population with significant barriers to employment.
· One year of experience leading/facilitating groups in order to instruct or provide information, in addition to conducting monitoring reviews of workforce-related programs.
· Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
· Experience delivering presentations and trainings in groups.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Work is primarily performed in an office environment and involves light physical duties, including intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. The employee must be able to lift up to five (5) pounds.
