Description: Role Overview
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) program Production Operations team in Huntsville, Alabama.
In this role, you will support electrical and mechanical structure assembly, integration, and test operations, working closely with engineering, production, quality, and leadership teams. You'll play a key role in translating engineering designs into efficient, repeatable manufacturing processes that meet cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
This position may include limited travel to support other manufacturing operations.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support to shop floor operations
Develop, maintain, and update manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, and work instructions
Lead and coordinate technical activities to meet engineering requirements, schedules, and cost targets
Support implementation of engineering changes and ensure smooth integration into production
Design and improve manufacturing processes, layouts, and workflows for efficient production
Support tool design and fabrication activities that impact product performance
Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans as needed
Review engineering designs and provide feedback to improve manufacturability
Analyze production issues, inspect non-conforming hardware, and support corrective actions
Partner with Quality Assurance to identify root causes and implement process improvements
Represent manufacturing in peer reviews and cross-functional meetings
Work Environment
Primarily on-site manufacturing and production environment
Regular interaction with shop floor personnel, engineers, and program leadership
Hands-on involvement with electro-mechanical hardware and manufacturing processes
Occasional travel to support additional manufacturing locations

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must meet all requirements
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience writing, reviewing, or maintaining manufacturing work instructions or similar production documentation
Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or quality environment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and/or electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Ability to work on-site in Huntsville and Courtland, Alabama, as program needs require
Desired Skills:
Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy
Experience with electrical assembly, integration and test (AI&T), or harness fabrication
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience supporting government customers or defense programs
Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space or similar industry manufacturing processes (e.g., work instructions, routings, production orders, BOMs, FMEAs, EVM systems)
Experience using manufacturing or engineering systems such as SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, or comparable tools
Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience involving electro-mechanical hardware
Active Secret clearance
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
