EFFECTIVE: 1/12/26 - 6/26/26 (Annual Appointment)

ESSENTIAL CORE CHARACTERISTICS:

Successful candidate will have certification in Elementary Education B-6 required.

Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to infuse technology into the total instructional program.

Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate his/her ability to infuse character education into the total instructional program.

Experience teaching elementary, grades K-6

Familiarity with programs with AIMS Web Assessment platform as well as formative oral reading and comprehension assessments;

Familiarity with research connected to the Science of Reading and the dynamics of a Structured Literacy Block;

Demonstrated ability to organize the classroom setting to enhance learning and establish rules that clarify expectations;

Demonstrated ability to motivate students to do their best work and inspire a love of learning

Possess a solid commitment to professional learning and commitment to contribution to the school community

Willing to participate in Professional Development

Experience with the implementation of the Common Core Standards, NYSE, ELA and Math Modules and instructional strategies

Experience implementing Common core aligned units, lesson and assessments

Effective classroom management skills, demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum, including planning, execution, and evaluation of materials, supplies and lessons

Strong math and literacy background

Character traits necessary to teach young children - enthusiasm, warmth and dedication

Ability to differentiate instruction

Strong communication and teaming skills

Lifelong learner

Experience working in 8:1:1 classrooms specializing in student behavior preferred.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide behavior and instructional support to students in three 8:1:1 Special Education classes

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

ANNUAL SALARY: $18,172 - $20,674 Per WTA Contract

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Internal: District employees (Probationary and tenured teachers requesting a transfer within their current tenure area, Teaching Assistants who are currently fully certified in the appropriate tenure area) may apply by submitting a letter of interest to Human Resources with a copy to the building principal. The original signed letters of interest must be submitted by the end of the day on January 8, 2025.
