Life Skills and Transition Center (LSTC)- Grafton, ND -Recreational Direct Support Professional
As ourRecreational Direct Support Professional, you will provide a variety of activities including social, independent and home-based for individuals residing at LSTC through the Dakota East (DE) Vocational Program. These activities will take place during the day, evening, and on weekends. You will assist in establishing, coordinating, and supervising the new shuttle service.
Additionally, you will research, plan, and attend activities both on-site at LSTC and within the community. You will also help organize and facilitate living area meeting coverage and Special Olympics events. In the evenings, you will supervise the recreational rooms and offer engaging activities for participants. Overall, you will play a key role in supporting individuals across home, work, and community settings, with a focus on promoting independence and engagement in meaningful, fulfilling activities.
To succeed in this role, you should be committed to improving the lives of those supported at LSTC through person-centered support, community integration, and meaningful engagement. A passion for empowering individuals in a safe, and supportive environment is essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively across various platforms and with people from diverse backgrounds.
To be considered for this position, you are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) year of professional experience providing direct care to the special populations.
You must have a valid drivers license and complete the assigned defensive driving course.
