POSITION PURPOSE
The Vice President of Retail is responsible for driving profitable growth, sales performance, and exceptional member experiences across the Credit Unions branch network. Partnering closely with the COO and executive leadership team, this role translates corporate strategy into measurable sales results, market expansion, and financial performance.
This executive is a sales-driven leader and role model who builds high-performing retail teams, holds leaders accountable to results, and ensures every branch operates as a growth engine for the Credit Union. The Vice President of Retail champions a culture where sales excellence, service quality, and operational discipline work together to deliver sustainable membership growth and strong financial outcomes.
Strategy, Sales Leadership and Financial Performance
Owns PandL performance for the retail network, including revenue growth, expense management, and profitability targets.
Converts enterprise strategy into actionable sales plans, market strategies, budgets, performance metrics, and execution roadmaps.
Defines and achieves annual sales goals, growth targets, and productivity benchmarks through disciplined execution of a long-term retail strategy.
Develops, monitors, and reports on key sales and performance indicators, including production, household penetration, product adoption, and branch profitability.
Partners with Marketing to design, launch, and optimize sales campaigns that drive new relationships, deepen existing ones, and improve conversion across all retail channels.
Sales Coaching, Talent Development and Accountability
Builds, mentors, and develops high-performing retail leaders, setting clear expectations for results, coaching cadence, and performance accountability.
Establishes a sales management operating cadence, including goal setting, pipeline review, coaching conversations, and performance improvement plans.
Recruits, hires, and retains top retail and sales talent capable of driving results in a competitive financial services environment.
Leads ongoing sales training, development, and coaching programs designed to increase confidence, consistency, and production across all retail channels.
Ensures performance management processes clearly link individual and team results to compensation, recognition, and career progression.
Data, Insights and Market Growth
Analyzes performance data across multiple sources to identify sales opportunities, market gaps, staffing needs, and productivity improvements.
Provides strategic guidance for the development and execution of market-level sales plans, holding Market Managers accountable for results.
Prepares and presents monthly sales, coaching, and market performance reports to executive leadership.
Provides insight and leadership on enterprise initiatives that impact frontline sales effectiveness and member engagement.
Compliance, Risk and Governance
Ensures retail sales and operations comply with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act requirements.
Maintains strong retail compliance controls, risk management practices, and loss prevention standards while enabling responsible sales growth.
-Ensures all retail staff are trained, informed, and operating within regulatory and policy guidelines.
Community Engagement and Brand Growth
Represents the Credit Union in community and civic events to build brand awareness, generate relationships, and support market growth.
Promotes the Credit Unions mission, values, and commitment to members through visible leadership and community presence.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in Business or related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Knowledge:
Thorough knowledge of consumer, business and mortgage lending practices.
Robust working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced Excel a plus.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 5 years of financial institution sales management experience.
Seven to tenyears of Credit Union or other financial institution experience. Branch management experience preferred.
