Accounting Manager

Location: Johnstown, PA

Pay Rate: $50,000-$60,000 per year - Based on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday -- Day Shift (May require evenings and weekends)

What will you be doing?

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and internal controls. This role manages the payroll and accounting team and partners with leadership to strengthen financial processes and decision making.

Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.

Prepare and submit billing for all client @types including OLTL, MCO, ODP, Private Pay, OVR and other applicable contracts.

Record accounting software billed revenues.

Management of outstanding, unpaid claims.

Perform weekly pre-billing to ensure that all shifts are connected to authorizations.

Oversight of Accounts Payable and Collections process.

Oversight of Accounts Receivable process.

Review and recommend improvements for internal financial audits and controls.

Assist with Agency budget analysis, making recommendations as appropriate.

Assist in development and monitoring of departmental budgets and planning process, identifying process improvement as appropriate.

Maintain departmental procedure manual and ensure cross training of all functional areas.

Serve as point of contact for audits.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local legal requirements along with program regulations, maintaining current and anticipated updates to applicable material.

Support system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.

Performs other duties as required.

What are the Job Requirements?

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Minimum of five (5) years' progressive accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Non-profit management experience preferred.

Must be proficient in Windows, and Microsoft Office applications.

In accordance with Federal and the state of Pennsylvania regulations governing facilities/agencies that offer care-dependent services, a facility/agency may not hire an applicant nor retain an employee required to submit a criminal history report if the criminal history report reveals a felony conviction under The Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act or a conviction under any of the Pennsylvania Crime Codes. In addition, any felony offense under Chapter 39, of the Crime Code (relating to theft & related offenses), or two or more misdemeanors under Chapter 39 will prohibit hiring of the applicant or retaining the employee.

The Agency requires a Criminal Background Check, MA Fraud Check and Child Abuse History Clearance at the time of hire as well as periodically throughout employment.
