GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) is an organization with a rich history and a bright future. As a leader in the energy industry, we look to our employees to help us grow, change, and provide power to over 500,000 members of our 17 electric distribution cooperatives. An Engineering Intern assists in various areas of Power Production and Delivery in AECC's Engineering department located in Little Rock, AR. We're looking for someone who can maintain a high degree of situational awareness to meet continually changing conditions with a fresh and adaptable approach. In this position, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and strive to push forward AECC's mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with various projects related to substation facilities, transmission lines, hydroelectric generation, and/or associated monitoring and control systems.
Utilize computer-based engineering software programs to create, design, analyze, and model related data to support the needs of our Members.
Support engineers with procurement and contracting related to purchase of equipment, materials, or construction labor.
Accompany AECC personnel on field visits to various locations throughout the state of Arkansas to collect data.
Organize department drawings and documents to conform to division records management standards.
Assist with database development and process mapping.
Aid AECC staff, including engineers, analysts, and technicians in the accomplishment of daily objectives.
Maintain awareness of and compliance with applicable laws and regulations from various regulatory entities, internal policies, procedures, and directives. Ensure ongoing monitoring and timely incorporation of any changes to maintain adherence to compliance standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree from an engineering program that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc. (EAC of ABET), Land Surveying, or related discipline.
Technologically adept and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid state driver's license

In pursuant of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to AECC/AECI standards and processes.
