Rocket Limited Partnership has multiple openings for the position of Sr. Database Administrator (Ref# SDBARLP).

Work Location: 1050 Woodward Ave. Detroit, MI 48226. Position may telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.

Job Duties: Gather database requirements for various applications. Install and configure databases according to requirements. Set up high availability and high reliability for databases. Perform database maintenance tasks, such as defragmentation, upgrades and storage management. Build bash scripts to automate database maintenance tasks, such as backups, and error alerts. Configure performance optimization and replication for database servers. Implement best practice configurations for database, memory, OS and storage engine. Recommend and build out indexes for necessary queries. Implement and test disaster recovery procedures to ensure proper failovers and reduce risks of data loss. Ensure quality data creation and data consistency within the database environment. Oversee data consistency with third party interfaces. Ensure proper database isolation for best performance. Integrate databases with third party monitoring tools. Implement performance monitoring solutions. Understand and implement disaster recovery solutions. Provide guidelines to application teams for data migration. Research and develop scripts for database infrastructure. Serve as subject matter expert for advanced escalation issues. Research and enforce beset practices for database administration. Mentor junior team members.

Requirements: This position requires a Master's degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Database Engineer or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Position requires 2 years of experience with the following skills: installing & configuring databases; architecting & maintaining high availability disaster recovery environments; planning & implementing database migration & patching; troubleshooting database production issues; and performance tuning & database optimization. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
