The maximum salary range is reserved for candidates that far exceed the required and preferred qualifications for the role.Position OverviewThe Family Engagement and ESA Coordinator works within the Infrastructure and Systems Support Unit of the Division of Stakeholder Engagement and Systems and Field Supports, housed in the Office of Special Populations and Student Supports (OSPSS). This advanced-level position provides strategic leadership and expert consultative services in support of agency-wide parent engagement initiatives, with a specialized focus on ensuring equitable access to Educational Savings Account (ESA) programs for students with disabilities who are, or may be, eligible for special education and related services in the public school system.This role requires extensive collaboration across divisions and external agencies, particularly in establishing and administering special education components of the ESA program in coordination with the Texas Comptrollerand#8217;s Office. The coordinator operates with minimal supervision and exercises considerable independent judgment and initiative in the execution of responsibilities.As business needs evolve, the responsibilities and focus of the Family Engagement and ESA Coordinator role may shift. This role calls for adaptability and a willingness to embrace change, with the assurance that any adjustments will remain within the scope of the job classification.Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates. You may perform other functions as assigned.1. Technical Assistance and Consultative Support: Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders regarding ESA program access for students with disabilities. Provide expert-level guidance and consultation on special education eligibility and service coordination within the ESA framework.2. Product and Program Development and Publication Support: Develop the program and infrastructure with intra- and inter-agency colleagues to document eligibility for the ESA program by students with disabilities so that funding entitlements can be determined by the comptroller. Consult and collaborate with the division of parental choice and other offices as necessary to develop parent-facing resources and local educational agency (LEA) supports.3. Program Data and Reporting: Assist in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, updating, and standardization of processes, data management systems, and the TEAL based application related to the ESA program data to meet statutory and technical requirements. Reporting data frequently to various stakeholders.4. Foster Cross-Agency Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with other state agencies, education service centers (ESCs), LEAs, advocates, and families. Prepare and present information to a wide variety of stakeholders on the ESA program.5. Program Coordination: Coordinate the ESA program for OSPSS, while engaging in continuous improvement and quality review efforts. Review documentation provided and make eligibility decisions for students with disabilities who wish to participate in the ESA program.
