Medical Receptionist (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Rockville, MD (On-site)

Duration: 4-month contract-to-hire

Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Wednesday, Friday: 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM

About the Role

We are seeking an entry-level, Medical Receptionist to join a busy physical therapy clinic. This role is critical to ensuring smooth patient flow and exceptional customer service. You will be the first point of contact for patients, managing check-in/check-out processes, scheduling follow-up appointments, and handling inquiries both in person and over the phone.

Key Responsibilities

Greet patients and manage front desk operations, including check-in and check-out.

Schedule follow-up appointments and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR system.

Answer incoming calls and assist patients with questions or concerns.

Document physician notes in the EMR system.

Balance multiple priorities: assisting patients in person, answering phones, and supporting providers.

Provide general customer service and administrative support as needed.

Top Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have:

Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred).

Strong communication skills (email and phone).

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have:

Healthcare experience (highly preferred).

Knowledge of patient registration, scheduling, and insurance processes.

Minimum Requirements:

1+ year of customer service experience, preferably in a front desk or administrative role.

Work Environment & Perks

Collaborative team environment with supportive staff.

Free parking available; metro access possible but less convenient.

Opportunity to transition to a permanent role after the contract period.

Interview Process

Virtual interview followed by an in-person meeting with clinic leadership.

Interviews can be scheduled throughout the holiday season.

Target start date: December 22, 2025.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockville, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
