Analyst - Supply Chain

Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking an Analyst to join the Supply Chain team. In this job, you will spend your time working with big data, performing data analyses, and reporting, which will impact actionable decision-making for the Supply Chain Group. Data Analysis and reporting will be a focus of this position using Maximo, CONNECT, Power Query, Power BI, and Excel at an intermediate/expert level. You will also, be responsible for reporting data sources to support Supply Chain data reporting and KPI development. Key Areas of Focus:
Synthesize large data sets into clear metrics and dashboards/reports to drive decision making
Extract and analyze large data sets to proactively identify improvement opportunities and/or unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation
Analyze and interpret data, prepare charts, graphs, dashboards, and other reports to tell the story to management
Recommends actions by analyzing reports to identify correlations/trends related to performance metrics to assist in decision-making and planning
Review of data to ensure data integrity
Creation of Power BI dataflows and reports - using Power Query and visualizations
Development and Analysis of Excel formulas and tables
Creating and editing the Supply Chain Analytics team process and data analysis documentation
Facilitate problem-solving sessions with business users and present key insights
Lead business process sessions and documentation of existing workflows
Create/edit training documentation, as needed
Support end-user training sessions and workshops
Establish partnerships in cross-functional areas to support company initiatives
Partner closely with business partners to work through systems issues and to identify/implement process improvements
Source Analyst Support - Analyze a broad range of supplier information, such as financial data and market position, to identify potential risks
Support strategic business goals, plans, programs, and projects for the department
Receive, review, approve, and route purchase requisitions
Support Cost/Price Analysis - Should Cost model development
Lead the development of Cost Management Policy
Support fact-based negotiations by providing cost analysis to Sourcing Specialists
What will make you successful in this role: A bachelor's degree in finance, business, data analytics, materials management, economics, accounting or a related field is preferred, along with high proficiency in Excel, Maximo, CONNECT, Office 365 Suite including Access, Power Query and Power BI experience (or other data visualization experience) is highly preferred for this role. Understanding of data mining concepts and previous experience with SharePoint development, PowerApps, Power Automate & Mobile Apps is highly desirable.

Oversee / Manage all CONNECT tool forums (internal /external)
Act as subject matter expert and backup support to the CONNECT Supplier Manager
Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; compares data from different sources to draw conclusions and tell the story
Strong work ethic and self-motivated individual with excellent quantitative skills
Structured and organized problem solver who can drive analytical projects to completion; Analytical ability, attention to detail, and ability to dive deep
Experience and understanding of data modeling techniques and practices
Ability to optimize work processes
Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including the ability to effectively present and discuss information and respond to questions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those required for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a small amount, a job should be rated Light Work when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it requires sitting most of the time, but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls and/or when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is small. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding work even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
