Responsibilities You will serve as an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) in the UARNOC Division (N32), Operations Department (N3) of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMSM LANT). You will ensure reliable operation of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and Voice over Secure Internet Protocol (VoSIP) systems. You will maintain and improve the VoIP/VoSIP infrastructure that supports global maritime and joint forces. You will manage and maintain the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) infrastructure, ensuring its operational readiness and security. You will plan, schedule and execute CUCM installations and upgrades, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure minimal disruption. You will provide training to Information Technician designated Navy personnel on the operation and maintenance of VoIP/VoSIP equipment. You will maintain physical security of related equipment and spaces adhering to established security protocols. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1. Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Evaluating circuit and network outages to ensure effective system operations. 2. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing written and oral presentations/briefs to internal and external stakeholders. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Identifying and applying remediation techniques to VoIP/VoSIP telecommunication systems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have qualifying experience such as: -Experience performing system administration tasks to include operating system patches, updates, and maintaining back up and audit logs. -Experience conducting system inspections, software installation and upgrades and system configurations. -Experience preparing detailed technical and non-technical briefings. -Experience assisting with the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), computer emergency response plans and network configuration drawings. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. Several vacancies may be filled.
