Accounting Manager| Real Estate Investment Firm| San Mateo| Hybrid | $130-180k base + Bonus

The Accounting Manager position is newly created to support an expanding portfolio and provides the opportunity to co-manage and mentor a senior accountant. Responsibilities

Supervise fund administrators in preparing GAAP financial statements

Analyze transactions and variances, recommending actions to leadership

Maintain accounting files for property funds, including invoices, depreciation, and journal entries

Oversee audits and coordinate tax filings

Monitor cash, perform bank reconciliations, and support financial reporting

Maintain investor reporting and respond to inquiries

Ensure compliance with internal controls and tax requirements

Requirements

10+ years of real estate accounting experience - property accounting, treasury, or corporate finance experience

Experience with consolidated financial statements

Multifamily real estate accounting background

Management experience with ability to co-lead a senior accountant

Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Yardi, or Sage preferred

Strong Excel, organization, and communication skills

Knowledge of GAAP, tax concepts, fund structures, and partnership agreements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
