Job Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a global top-tier company's largest global subsidiary as a leader/change agent to drive changes and innovation of the Compliance division as well as the enterprise. The Compliance team is on a journey to shift to a true global function under new leadership. We seek to hire compliance manager(s)/staff(s) at the Head Office (Tokyo). Based on an assessment of the final candidate, the most suitable role we believe would be offered among a couple of designed positions.
The AIG Japan Compliance function oversees compliance risks across the enterprise through policy and procedure development and implementation, risk assessment, testing and monitoring, training, advisory activities and investigations. The Compliance function is accelerating its digital transformation, and now seeks a Japan Compliance Transformation Manager to transform key Compliance processes through the effective and innovative use of technology.
Job Responsibilities
Engage with Japan Compliance Officers to understand and document their top problem areas and opportunities. Make recommendations to Compliance leadership on potential areas for process rationalization, redesign and automation. Priority areas for support include Compliance Risk Assessment, Compliance Testing and Compliance Monitoring.
Design solutions to Compliance challenges that are effective and efficient within the constraints of AIG Japan's technology environment.
Define requirements with and for local Compliance automation champions (citizen developers), and other regional/global development resources to build and maintain these solutions.
Collaborate with data providers across the organization to maintain and expand the data sources that are available to Compliance.
Independently develop practical solutions using industry-leading technologies.
Perform Quality Assurance reviews of solutions before deployment.
Manage and prioritize a pipeline of analytics and automation opportunities, providing regular updates to Compliance leadership around status/progress.
Train and mentor Japan Compliance colleagues to improve their data and technology literacy, including in innovative uses of Artificial Intelligence.

Required Skills and Experiences
?Educational Qualification?
Bachelor's degree or above
?Specific Qualifications?
·Hands-on experience in deploying solutions using analytics and automation tools
·Background in Compliance, Audit, Consulting, or other control-related functions is a plus.
·Experience in financial/insurance industry is even better.
?Total Experience?
·5+ years of relevant experience in digital transformation, including key areas such as business analysis, solution design and process re-engineering, particularly for corporate functions such as Compliance, Audit, Risk, Finance or Operations.
·5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in deploying solutions using analytics and automation tools (e.g. SQL, KNIME, PowerBI, Power Automate, etc.). Familiarity with using AI in business processes is highly desirable.
·Good understanding of risk and control concepts, preferably in the @context of Compliance, Audit or Risk functions within the Insurance or Financial Services industry.
·A strong drive for continuous self-improvement and to help improve both business processes and colleagues' capabilities to the best they can be through continuous learning and training others on new technologies and techniques.
·Comfortable operating as a senior individual contributor while influencing and empowering others.
·Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at varying seniority levels.
·Fluent Japanese verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and coaching skills.
·Business-level English communication skills, including experience collaborating with international colleagues.
·Effective time management skills; ability to prioritize competing initiatives while meeting deadlines.
*Depending on skills and experience, job grades are expected to be between G20 and G22.
