Job Description
The Iowa Department of Management (DOM), Division of Information Technology (DoIT), is seeking anInformation Technology Specialist 4 - Central Gaming System Testerto support the Iowa Department of Revenue (IDR). In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of IDR's Central Gaming System (CGS) and related lottery products. From validating Scratch and Pull-Tab games to testing EasyPlay tickets and mobile app functionality, you'll help ensure every game meets our high standards before reaching the public.
What You Will Do
Conduct UAT for Central Gaming System (CGS) to ensure accurate bet processing, ticket printing, and validation across all platforms.
Coordinate with vendors to manage UAT system setup, data alignment, and shutdown for testing cycles.
Perform regression or targeted testing based on system changes, and report results to leadership.
Validate game functionality on terminals, vending machines, and mobile apps, including electronic play slips.
Lead monthly GLEPS testing for new Scratch games, verifying prize structures and documenting results.
Maintain GLEPS records and ensure proper retention and disposal of test tickets.
Test EasyPlay tickets printed via POS systems, ensuring compatibility with CGS equipment.
Verify EasyPlay infrastructure supports sales through retailer POS systems after system updates.
Execute Pull-Tab testing by simulating retailer transactions and verifying prize payouts.
Identify and report anomalies during testing to ensure system integrity.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support testing processes and issue resolution.
Recommend improvements to testing procedures and documentation.
What We Are Seeking
Experience with system testing, particularly User Acceptance Testing (UAT), in a technical or gaming environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify, document, and report system anomalies.
Ability to coordinate with vendors and internal teams to manage testing environments and processes.
Proficiency in tracking and validating data against technical documentation and game specifications.
Strong organizational skills to manage test records, follow retention guidelines, and ensure compliance.

Working Arrangement
This position requires onsite work in Clive, IA each week. Employees meetingallexpectations of their work responsibilities may request remote work and develop a hybrid/remote schedule collaboratively with their manager.

Effective July 1st, 2025, all Department of Revenue staff and their household will not be able to play any Iowa Lottery games.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
**Note: To pass the initial screening, applicants must demonstrate the technical skills listed below:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and experience equal to two years of full-time work: operating a multi-job computer; installing, operating and coordinating computer based networks; installing/maintaining database management systems; developing business application processes; developing/operating system programs; installing/maintaining personal computers, Local Area Networks and/or servers; managing operating systems; developing/ delivering information management training; providing Information Technology (IT) customer service; or designing/administering Internet sites;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting the completion of an approved curriculum/specialized training program developed and implemented by or in cooperation with state government; or eighteen semester hours of accredited post high school course work in one of the specialty areas listed above; or certification by an authorized educational institution/major computer or software producer in an area directly related to one of the specialty areas listed above, for the required education;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of the required experience for thirty semester hours of the required education;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to six months of full-time work as an Information Technology Specialist 3.
