Schwerdfeger Family Farms is a family owned and operated agricultural
farming business located in Coolidge Kansas. We farm roughly 17000 acres
of dry land wheat, milo and corn. We are seeking a highly motivated
seasonal employee to assist with all aspects of our farming operation
including but not limited to ground preparation, planting and harvesting
of grain crops. Positive attuited and the ability to work with others is
a must! During our busy season we will work Monday through Saturday.
During the slower season a normal work week will be Monday through
Friday. Spring and fall planting will require equipment operation such
as air seeders, planters and tending equipment. Tillage of the non-crop
ground will require the operation of sweep plows, disk, vertical tillage
\"VT\" and chisel plows. Harvest will require the equipment operation of
combines, grain cart, grain truck. During slower periods employee will
need to complete general farm duties as assigned, routine repairs,
equipment maintenance, mowing both with large tractors or lawn tractors
and clean equipment and/or the facilities. No commercial truck driving
is required. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay
increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or
experience. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at
their previous seasons rate if that rate exceeds the current published
rate.
Family housing not available. Housing will be clean and meet applicable
Fed, State and local housing standards. Workers must maintain neat and
clean housing. Housing/utilities are provided at no cost to workers who
are unable to return to their place of residence the same day. If both
male and female workers are hired: separate toilet, bathing and sleeping
rooms will be provided.
Employer is not a H-2ALC. Employees will be provided with an employer
owned vehicle to drive to and from work and to town for errands at least
once per week. Daily transportation schedule will coincide with the work
schedule outlined on this application, or as agreed upon between
employer and employee based on seasonal demands and/or workload. A
different vehicle(s) may be provided which meets all DOT requirements if
the following is no longer available. The vehicle provided will be a Two
