About this Job
The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs.
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Administrative Assistant 5 to provide advanced administrative support to senior leadership and ensure efficient daily operations. This role requires discretion, initiative, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:
Accepting Direction: The ability to accept and follow directions from those higher in the chain of command.
Communicating Effectively: The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas.
Demonstrating Accountability: The ability to accept ownership for your actions, behaviours, performance, and decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
*Processing payroll with time and attendance and maintaining timesheets for the department.
Data entry into JCAMPUS and Managing the data.
Office Management Processes (filing, bookkeeping, documentation preparation).
Calendar and Scheduling Management.
Serves as Communication assistant (via emails, telephone calls and any other correspondence in relations to the departments day-to-day operations).
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. The chosen application will be required to take a probationary appointment.
Location: The Administrative Assistant 5 position is located at the LA Special School District in Baton Rouge, LA.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday - Friday.
