Description

Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely month-end and year-end closes.

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and recurring entries.

Oversee payroll tax processes, including preparation, review, and timely submission of Form 940 (FUTA) and Form 941 (Quarterly Federal Tax Return).

Collaborate with payroll providers or internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with federal and state payroll tax regulations.

Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation schedules, asset disposals, and reconciliations.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

Contribute to process improvements and the development of internal controls.

Requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience). REQUESTED/NOT REQUIRED.

2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a general ledger or staff accountant role.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting best practices.

Experience preparing and filing Forms 940 and 941; familiarity with payroll systems and tax regulations.

Proficiency in fixed asset accounting and related software tools.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage,ADP,Foundation,Fleet Cost and Care) and Excel with Pivot Table Experience.
