JOB SUMMARY: Works with the manufacturing engineering groups (both corporate and factories) to provide technical analysis, process documentation, improvement projects, equipment enhancements, quality verifications, and equipment troubleshooting and repair.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)
Develops and implements manufacturing methods and procedures to assure product and material quality.
Executes designed experiments to collect, compile, and analyze data for engineers.
Assists in the procurement of parts, components, and documentation for models and proto@type.
Prepares and reviews existing process routings.
Prepares and reviews new programs manufacturing assembly time and equipment quotes.
Supports engineering change activities including creation and review of RFECs and ECNs.
Provides technical analysis, input, and implements process improvements, equipment enhancements, and corrective actions on production lines.
Assists in the development of test controls, process controls, and accepted standards for new and existing products.
Provides support to Quality System audits per ISO requirements.
Participates in cost studies and equipment recommendations.
Maintains data tracking programs and data integrity, record keeping forms, and other production data.
Prepares and secures approval of standard operating procedures, process maps, PFMEAs, and Work Instructions in such areas as manufacturing processes, quality standards, and testing to assure consistent product quality.
Prepares validation plans for processes and equipment for Advanced Quality Systems such as IQ/OQ/PQ, Master Validation Plan (MVP) and Report (MVR); Foreign Object Damage (FOD) logs, among others.
Assures that all Engineering changes for processes and equipment are adequately documented for introduction to Manufacturing personnel.
Assists with training operators or remote site personnel in equipment safety, operation, and support skills.
Assists with providing training to maintenance personnel and transition support for new equipment.
Assists Maintenance personnel in performing general troubleshooting and general repair on production equipment.
Trains other Manufacturing Technicians.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Performs other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates of Science degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and a minimum of three years progressive experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment including electronic/mechanical repair, troubleshooting, and testing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and statistical analysis and compute figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to operate a computer and use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Chinese.
Experience in Contract Manufacturing.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with some areas that may be louder at times.
